FAMILY

Schilling Beer Co. is a modern European-inspired artisan brewery centered on family, community, and excellence. Founded in 2013 by three Cozzens brothers and their long-time friend, John Lenzini – Northern Michigan natives who moved to the North Country nearly two decades ago – the Schilling name honors the Cozzens’ beloved late grandfather, Dr. R.J. Schilling. It also reflects the continental European experiences and inspirations foundational to the design of our beers, brewery and hospitality concept.

COMMUNITY

Nestled in the shadow of New Hampshire’s majestic White Mountains and a few minutes from Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, Littleton is the cultural and recreational hub of the North Country.

Annually rated as one of the the best small towns in America with a bustling Main Street, this gem of 6,000 residents offers something for everyone: art galleries; funky and unique shops; an emerging River District music scene centered on The Loading Dock; a community mountain biking trail network called PRKR Mountain, five quick minutes from the brewery; and the Ammonoosuc River, right behind Schilling.

Access to backcountry adventuring of all sorts is fairly immediate upon leaving the brewery. Guests can fish for three species of trout right behind us, and almost touch the beautiful covered bridge from our Mill St Kitchen’s deck. Throw in four crisp seasons, with hiking and skiing minutes from the brewery, and you’ll see from your first visit why we are so proud to live and brew here.

Littleton is authentic, gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. Named a Top-5 “Small Town Beer Town” by USA Today in 2025, we are proud to call it our home!

EXCELLENCE

Schilling Beer Co. is anchored in an unwavering commitment to excellence–a commitment that is annually recognized by our guests, beer industry colleagues and the media.

Most recently, USA Today named Schilling one of the top-10 brewpubs in the U.S. (2026). Untappd, the world’s largest beer rating platform, lists Schilling as the fourth highest-rated brewery in the U.S., according to medals won between 2023-2026, and the seventh-highest internationally (2026).

However, we expect this level of performance from ourselves; we owe it to our guests and drinkers. While we are grateful for the awards and recognition of our team, at the end of the day, the most meaningful metrics of success are the smiles worn by our self-critical production team when the beer meets their standard, and by those on the faces of happy guests. After all, we believe that craft beer is about relationships, memories and hospitality–not hardware.

Being “world-class” is a fleeting aspiration that keeps us continually striving for more. We hope you taste this commitment in our beers and experience it when you visit us in Littleton.
